Where can we use solar?

PV Panel Types

There are 3 basic types

PV Basics

PV stands for Photovoltaic. This technology allows to convert sunlight into electricity. The material used is silicon. The manufacturers dope (add) to silicon other materials. This allows to silicon to create a current. The solar energy will create a charge. This way you are able to create sun-induced electricity.

Types

PV material comes in different shapes and forms. The most classical is just a silicon waver. Newer technologies are used to make thin-film material. This material is flexible and can be cut in any shape.

Solutions

A solar panel is made of a number of wavers or cells. Those cells can be put in parallel to create more current or in serial to create a higher voltage. Modern panels produce a 48V output. The latest panels offer even a 90V output. This allows you to transfer electricity power over thinner wires as the average current will be lower. The current is what decides what wire thickness you will have to us.
